[August 10, 2006 @ 3:10pm] [ mood | numb ] I'm sure by now that most of you have heard of the thwarted terrorist attack on the U.S. It's a large possibility that the attack was planned by al-Qaida, but no one is sure as of yet. I'm just glad that Nina (who has been in India for the past month or so) came home last night. A little worried about Ani, who is scheduled to fly home from Bulgaria on the 18th, but by then hopefully everything will be settled. And, on a side note, I'm really glad I don't live in a prominent state like New York. :] Comment

It's not too bad, but I'd still much rather be somewhere else. :] Well, I planned on having a substantial update, but I get out of here in like twenty minutes anyways and I have some more cars to put up on autotrader.com before I leave. [June 11, 2006 @ 11:44pm] [ mood | ecstatic ] [ music | "She Is" by The Fray ] After a few days of wanting to strangle AOL, I finally got to see what works of mine were nominated for the Stargate Fan Awards! I was totally blown away. I hardly expected to get one nomination; let alone fifteen! Thank you so much, everyone! I've deleted the repeat as well as the incomplete ones, but I'm still left with twelve, which means I have to eliminate two. I understand what everybody was talking about now! It's so difficult. And choosing categories is just as hard! Phew. Unfortunately, I have to decide all of this today and tomorrow. Still, I'm extremely happy. Other than that, I am officially on my summer vacation! I can actually have a social life now, lol. We took the boat out for the first time today; it was in the high 60's, but it was still really nice. Next week I start the second segment of Driver's Training and then I'll take [and hopefully pass. I get ridiculously nervous about these sort of things] the road test. Then when I get back from Orlando [I'll be vacationing there when I turn sixteen] I can just turn in the slip to the office and get my license. The only downside of things lately is that my father's myasthenia gravis is rearing its ugly head again. But the doctors have moved him to some new medication, so hopefully he'll be back to new in a couple weeks. And, on a completely unrelated topic, I changed my layout again. On the Stargate side of things, I finally posted a tag to "Michael" that's been flying around my head. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't even give mention to Rodney and Elizabeth. It was a little difficult writing for Ronon and Teyla, but...I gave it a shot. Other than that, I have a few paragraphs written of a songfic about Simon and Elizabeth's relationship. I also have a chapter of "Forsaken Future" written - only it's not the next chapter, lol. Anyway, hopefully you guys will see some more progress soon. Well, that's pretty much all for now. :) Bye! Thankfully, I have semester projects in first, second, and fifth hour instead of tests. Tuesday will be Biology and Honors English 10 and Wednesday will be Honors U.S. History and Honors Algebra II. Thursday I think all I have to do is my presentation in Spanish. I haven't been able to do much other than homework lately. :[ Got a few more ideas for ze notebook, but no actual writing, for the most part. [January 26, 2006 @ 5:33pm] [ mood | drained ] [ music | "Sign Off" by Sugarcult ] So, life is still hectic. Managed to pass exams with solid A's but got A- in history and math. Way happy about that. We have our course selection sheets coming soon, so get to pick out classes for junior year. Sort of already know what I'm going to do - Spanish IV+, Wind Ensemble, Gov/Econ, Trig/Analyt, Expository writing/computer app, Honors American Lit, and Honors Chem. Anyway, on the not-school side of things...managed to jam/break my finger yesterday. Got a splint today, probably not gonna get it x-rayed. I've broken the same finger before and all they do is give you a splint and to tape it later. Got my braces off today (so not fun) and now my mouth is all puffy. On a depressing note, it's also the been three weeks since my dog Kirby's death. It still feels odd without him here, but he was going on thirteen, so we sort of expected him to pass on soon. On the fic side of things, looking at these lyrics for a McKay/Weir songfic: ( Relient K, Who I Am Hates Who I've Been ) Also should have a Forsaken Future update this weekend once I get around to making some changes. :] I'm off to get ready for dance class so talk with you all later. [December 13, 2005 @ 4:05pm] Eight more days until winter vacation...can't wait! I updated a couple things over at my fanfiction.net profile (same name as this, for those who don't know): chapter five of Forsaken Future and a new, Carson/Elizabeth ficlet called Forever Broken. A Bewildered Heart update is an order soon - I just have to find some time to tweak some things. Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend. I have a party to go to on Saturday and some Christmas shopping, but other than that I should be free. (You just know that something will come up though, lol). Should probably work on U.S. History project too. Writing a children's story that's an allegory to imperialism, what fun. Would be neat if we didn't have to include so much stuff.
